Everton are reportedly interested in signing the Gremio and Brazil forward Everton Soares.
Reports first emerged regarding Everton’s interest in the Copa America winner toward the end of last year.
Over the weekend such reports intensified. Gazeta Esportiva suggested that Everton were keen on the player and that he had spoken personally with Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti. A fee in the region of £25.5 million has been touted.

However, the Brazilian side’s CEO has made it clear that there has not yet been any bid from Everton for their namesake.
Klauss Camara is quoted by Clic Camaqua as stating there has been ‘no proposal’ for their star player as yet.
“Everton in Everton is a situation that has been coming out more intensely. But there is no proposal put forward. In recent months, he’s been to several giants in Europe, but nothing concrete.”
TBR’s View
Everton are right to be interested in a player who is widely considered to be one of the hottest talents still plying their trade in the Brazilian league.
‘Cebolinha’, as he is known, is also attracting the interest of several other clubs so it would appear Everton need to make a move soon.
However, considering Everton’s recent financial records, spending that much money on an untried commodity might be a risk the club can do without.
