In comments that may interest Leeds United fans, Gremio boss Renato Gaucho has claimed that Douglas Costa is interested in joining the Brazilian side – as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
Costa has been linked with a move to Elland Road ahead of this summer. It appears highly unlikely that Bayern Munich will consider making his move permanent after an underwhelming time on loan.

Calciomercato reported earlier this month that Leeds could step up their interest. And it was claimed that Juventus were set to demand just £9.5 million for the 30-year-old.
But it appears that they are not the only side registering an interest. Renato shared how he had already held some talks with the winger.
“I have spoken to Douglas several times and he has shown interest. On a financial level, it depends on Gremio and I cannot overlook this aspect,” he said, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.

The financial aspect of a future deal could be crucial. Another report from Calciomercato previously claimed that he is earning £101,000-a-week right now.
TBR View: Gremio surely front-runners, but some Leeds fans may not mind
Renato’s comments hint that that may be the biggest stumbling block may be those wages. And that may perhaps leave the door open for Leeds or any admirer to potentially step in.
Having said that, Gremio may have a special place in Costa’s heart. He spent eight years on their books at the start of his career.
There may be some Leeds fans who would prefer to see him head elsewhere. He has not had the best time since moving between Juve and Bayern.
And given that he will be 31 early into next season, it could certainly be deemed a gamble to try and sign him up ahead of the twilight of his career.
