Rangers have reportedly opened talks with Derby County about trying to sign their midfielder Craig Bryson.
According to the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard has launched a move for the 32-year-old and negotiations are underway over a deal.
It is understood that the Gers are trying to land the Scotsman on a free transfer in January, as his contract expires with English Championship side Derby in the summer.
Rangers have already added Steven Davis on loan from Southampton in January to bolster the midfield, who should add extra competition alongside Scott Anfield and Ryan Jack.
Bryson is another central midfielder with a wealth of experience and the pass master could be a shrewd addition at Ibrox if a deal can be wrapped up.

But reported talks over Bryson’s switch to Rangers must be a real kick in the teeth to forgotten man Greg Docherty.
Docherty is currently out on loan from Rangers at League One club Shrewsbury Town, where he’s made a brilliant impact so far.
The central midfielder has made 28 appearances across all competitions this season for them, scoring seven goals and supplying seven assists so far.
The 22-year-old appears to have the potential to make an impact at Ibrox, but is seeing his parent club Rangers reinforce the midfield area massively in January to try aid a title bid.
Docherty’s task of becoming a Rangers first teamer will become even tougher next season if Bryson is at Ibrox.
