Rangers currently have a host of promising players out on loan from Ibrox in the 2018/19 season and it will interesting to see if any can cut the grade in the future at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard certainly does need several more additions to this squad before they are the complete article and one player that may help solve the puzzle is Greg Docherty.
The 22-year-old is currently out on loan with League One club Shrewsbury Town and is showing the most promise of all the Rangers loan stars.
Docherty only joined the Gers in January 2018 from Hamilton and has made just 14 appearances for the Scottish giants.
He didn’t feature in the initial plans of Gerrard over the summer, but he may want to rethink next year.
The central midfielder has been performing to a high level with Shrewsbury on a weekly basis and is one of their best players.
He’s scored seven goals and supplied five assists in the first half of the season and clearly can make a difference in the final third.
Rangers could do with more midfield options and perhaps Docherty may solve that problem further down the line with a breakthrough at the club when he returns.
