Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night as Arsenal beat Olympiacos.

Arsenal are off to a perfect start in the Champions League.

The Gunners beat Athletic Club 2-0 in September and defeated Olympiacos by the same scoreline on Wednesday night.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka scored the goals for Arsenal, securing another victory and yet another clean sheet for Mikel Arteta.

How Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis reacted straight after Arsenal beat Olympiacos

Arsenal were outstanding in the first half, with Martin Odegaard particularly impressive for the Gunners.

Olympiacos posed a threat in the second half and caused problems before Saka killed the game off.

There was a familiar face at the Emirates Stadium, as Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis watched on.

Marinakis also owns Olympiacos, so he made the trip to North London to watch his side take on the Gunners.

Former Arsenal sporting director Edu now works for Marinakis across all of his clubs, including Rio Ave in Portugal.

Edu is believed to have been in attendance as well, but Marinakis had a message for his players after losing the game.

Greek news outlet Sportdog report that Marinakis went into the Olympiacos changing room to congratulate the players on a great effort against Arsenal.

Marinakis praised the Olympiacos squad for playing with ‘passion’ and ‘soul’, believing that Champions League wins are coming soon.

Marinakis added that Olympiacos made fans proud despite losing to Arsenal, but now wants the players to hit back in league action.

“Congratulations for the effort. You played with passion, with soul, as befits the club and its history,” said Marinakis.

“It is a matter of time before the victories in the Champions League come. You have proven that you can respond at a high level. On Sunday, we have a difficult game in Thessaloniki. You must concentrate on it and get an important victory for the championship. Tonight was a night that, despite the result, you made our people feel proud. We are moving forward, and the best is yet to come,” he added.

A second defeat to Arsenal in a matter of weeks for Evangelos Marinakis

We would forgive Marinakis for being sick of Arsenal at the moment.

Marinakis hired Ange Postecoglou as the new Forest boss during the September international break.

Postecoglou’s first game was a trip to Arsenal, and the Gunners ran out 3-0 winners in a comfortable victory.

Arsenal have now beaten another Marinakis side – and kept another clean sheet in the process.

Marinakis may be proud of his Olympiacos squad, but he will be glad to have Arsenal out of the way for a while after two defeats in less than a month.
