Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has been praised by a number of Wales fans after he featured off the bench in Thursday’s UEFA Nations League victory over Finland.

The 23-year-old replaced Gareth Bale at half time and helped the Dragons to a 1-0 win in Helsinki, the impressive Kieffer Moore converting Daniel James’ low cross from the left late on.

By his own admission, Wilson said he had to “get rid of the cobwebs” as he got his first minutes of the season, and will now hope to feature again as Wales host Bulgaria in Cardiff on Sunday.

And his post-match tweet saw plenty of praise come his way:

Wilson spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Bournemouth, where he scored seven goals in 31 Premier League appearances, while the season before, he shone at Derby County, with 18 goals and six assists from 50 appearances in all competitions.

According to Goal.com, Liverpool won’t be sending him out on loan again and are willing to sell him, though they may need to lower their asking price from £20million in wake of the blow to the football industry caused by the global health crisis.
