Grealish posts reaction to Harry Winks’ loan move to Sampdoria

Jack Grealish was amongst to send Harry Winks a message on Instagram in reaction to the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder’s loan move to Sampdoria.

Winks secured a much-needed move this week. Of course, the England international found himself out of favour with Antonio Conte and had not made a single appearance so far this season.

The 26-year-old will have his sights set on becoming the latest Premier League player to really launch his career in Italy. The likes of Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham have enjoyed really success in Serie A.

It will not be easy for Winks. Sampdoria are still awaiting their first win of the league season, losing two of their opening three games. And they currently find themselves in the relegation zone.

But he will relish the chance to potentially play regularly.

And following the move, Winks has now taken to Instagram to express his excitement about the switch to Marco Giampaolo’s side.

Reaction to Winks move

Winks is at a crucial stage in his career. Few would have anticipated when he was coming through under Mauricio Pochettino that he would be being loaned out at 26 after falling right to the periphery of the squad.

It is not too late for Winks to get his career back on track. Pochettino said that he had the characteristics to be a ‘perfect‘ midfielder. And he did have a couple of brighter moments following Conte’s appointment.

If he can shine in Italy, a permanent move elsewhere will surely be on the cards. Certainly, all parties will be hoping that his Sampdoria switch proves to be an inspired move.
