Rangers have been linked with an audacious loan move for Watford striker Andre Gray.
The Herald have claimed the Light Blues are ‘considering’ exploring the possibility of taking the Englishman on a temporary basis, with Steven Gerrard looking to add more firepower to his squad for 2019/20.
Gray joined the Hornets for £18 million from Burnley in the summer of 2017, and has made 31 appearances for the club this season.

He has scored nine goals and made two assists and could well add to those tallies with two Premier League games and an FA Cup final remaining.
Gray earns around £70,000-a-week according to Silly Season, which surely makes any move to Ibrox this summer unlikely.
Rangers would almost certainly have to have the Hornets agree to pay the lionshare of his wages if they did manage to facilitate a loan move against the odds.
Instead of looking at Gray, perhaps Steven Gerrard should be eyeing up a more likely transfer for Adalberto Penaranda.
TBR’s view
Penaranda signed for Watford in 2016 from Deportivo La Guaira, but is yet to make his Premier League bow for the London club after some work permit issues.
He’s made a couple of FA Cup appearances this season, but is seemingly not really in Javi Gracia’s plans at the moment.

The skilful and versatile forward helped Venezuela U21s reach the World Cup final against England, and also became the youngest foreign scorer of a brace in La Liga whilst on loan at Granada – a record previously held by Lionel Messi.
Penaranda would be much more attainable that Gray and although inexperienced, could be the next South American hit at Ibrox after Alfredo Morelos.
