Arsenal will make Granit Xhaka one of their top earners with their new contract offer, with the Gunners set to increase his already big salary.
Xhaka earns around £100k-a-week, according to Spotrac. That already puts him in the higher echelons of Arsenal earners, albeit some way off Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang’s mega-money deal.

Reports from The Athletic earlier today have claimed that Xhaka is now in line for a surprise new deal with Arsenal. It comes after the Swiss star failed to agree a deal with Roma, who have held a long-standing interest in the midfielder.
And now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners will increase Xhaka’s salary, making him one of the top earners and giving him security until at least 2025.
The Gunners’ decision to give Xhaka a new deal represents something of a u-turn for the club. It looked for all the world that he would end up in Rome with Jose Mourinho.
However, no deal was reached, and the Gunners look to have taken the chance to tie Xhaka down further. It could also mean the club ends their hunt for a new midfielder.
Huge decision from Arsenal and Edu
Nobody will have seen this one coming at all, in all honesty. Xhaka to Roma seemed as good as done not so long ago.
So to see him ready to pen fresh terms, is something of a surprise. But, for Arsenal, it can be a good thing. They keep a player who actually did well last term and played well in Euro 2020.
It saves them money in the market, too. So while there’s no new signing for the Gunners fans, Xhaka staying can be celebrated in its own right.
