Arsenal continued their fine form with a 1-0 win over PSV in Europe last night as they made it past the group stages with ease.
A goal from Granit Xhaka in the 70th minute proved enough for the Gunners to see off the Dutch side. The in-form Swiss midfielder has been superb all season in a more advanced role and he once again got his rewards last night.
Another standout from Xhaka this season has been his leadership. Once vilified by many at the club, Xhaka is now firmly one of the captains within the club and he isn’t afraid to tell his teammates if something isn’t being done right.

And this was on display last night, as Xhaka pulled Bukayo Saka more a lapse in concentration. Per Football.London, Xhaka was seen giving Saka and earful and calling for more focus from the young winger after a pass out to the young England winger caught him off guard.
Of course, Saka reacted well to the situation himself, in another sign of the Arsenal players’ respect towards the Swiss star.
Certainly, Xhaka’s standards have upped this season and as long as he stays fit and keeps pushing his teammates, then this Arsenal side will keep on winning games.
TBR’s View: Xhaka A New Man At Arsenal
This Granit Xhaka is completely different to the one we saw a few seasons back. Gone are the strops where he loses his head and costs the team. Instead, we see a focussed midfielder who is clearly relishing the chance given to him by Mikel Arteta.
Xhaka has been superb all season long and the added bonus that he’s now getting goals is huge for the club.
His telling off of teammates as well shows he is comfortable in his new role and clearly, he wants standards maintaining at all times.
