Graham Roberts has insisted he wants to see Tanguy Ndombele back in the Tottenham midfield and feels they need him at the best for the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old has had to deal with a number of separate injury issues during his first season at Spurs, with the most recent one a groin problem that has seen him miss the last four fixtures in all competitions.
But manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed (Football.London) that the Frenchman will return on Wednesday night for the home match against Norwich City.
The central midfielder is due to play some part of the Premier League fixture, whether that be from the start or as an impact substitute.
Ndombele is a box-to-box central midfielder with the pace and power to really nail down a spot in the team if the injury problems are behind him.
Ex-Spurs defender Roberts is desperate to see the powerhouse recalled and has high hopes for him.
“Want to see Tanguy Ndombele back in the side and running the show looks an incredible player we now need to see him at his very best until the end of the season,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Ndombele has done enough in a Spurs shirt so far for supporters to get excited about him and it will be great to see his comeback against Norwich.
They have failed to win any of their last four league games and he will add some extra creativity when he bombs forward into the final third.
Mourinho needs to find the right balance in the centre of the park and stop rotating if he can help it between the likes of Ndombele, Harry Winks, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen and even new signing Gedson Fernandes.
A fixed combination will be much more useful in the long run and Spurs need to find the best solution from those options.
