Graham Roberts has claimed that he wants to see Tottenham’s Giovani Lo Celso in action this weekend against Sheffield United.
Spurs host Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League and desperately need a result.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team are without a win in their last four consecutive league matches and that’s why they currently sit 11th in the table.
The North London club should have some confidence restored though from beating Red Star Belgrade 4-0 away in midweek in the Champions League group stages.
Ex-Spurs player Roberts has argued that Lo Celso should be involved against Sheffield United.
The 23-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League game yet since his summer arrival, but impressed on his first ever Spurs start by scoring in the win over Red Star.
“He (Lo Celso) can rest next week on international duty get him out there [against Sheffield United],” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Lo Celso has been unfortunate with injury at the beginning of his Spurs career, but even when fit Pochettino has often overlooked him and it’s been an odd start to his career in English football.
But the attacking midfielder caught the eye in the Champions League and can add a real spark to a Spurs team that have struggled at times this year.
Roberts has argued that Lo Celso can cope with two games in a short space despite his lack of minutes and points towards the upcoming international break.
But he’s been included in the Argentina squad and the worst case scenario would be another injury setback for the promising creator.
