Graham Roberts has sent a message on Twitter to Tottenham star Heung-Min Son urging him to “hurry up” by signing a new contract at the club.
The South Korean attacker joined Spurs back in 2015 for £22million (BBC) from Bayer Leverkusen and on Saturday he reached a personal landmark for the North London club.
His goal in a 3-0 victory against Leeds United in the Premier League means he’s now scored 100 goals in 253 appearances across all competitions.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho was relaxed last month when asked about Son’s future and his confident he’ll sign a new deal, as his current £140,000-a-week (Spotrac) contract is due to expire in 2023.
“I see Sonny signing a new contract here but I don’t press for something to happen now because probably it’s not the right moment,” Mourinho said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, earlier in December well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Son was close to signing on the dotted line for a new contract.
“The agreement is getting closer, probably a five or six-year deal. Everybody in this deal wants to sign the new contract. Son is so happy with Tottenham. The new contract is coming in some weeks,” Romano claimed on his Here We Go podcast in December.
Roberts sent his message on social media to Son after his weekend performance.
“A huge congratulations to Sonny on scoring 100 goals today hurry up and sign that new deal,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:
Son is now rightfully being mentioned alongside the very best players in the Premier League, something he’s earned due to the sheer consistency of high quality performances he’s now producing.
He’s now scored 15 goals and supplied eight assists in 24 games across all competitions so far this season.
Mourinho has been a serial winner during his managerial career and any success that he may achieve at Spurs could depend largely on top-class talents such as Son, as well as forward Harry Kane.
