Graham Roberts expressed his delight on Twitter after Tottenham beat Championship opposition Wycombe Wanderers 4-1 last night in the FA Cup fourth round.
Ex-Spurs player Roberts picked out Bale, who started the cup contest, as a real positive, describing him as “very sharp”.
He also gave a special mention to Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele.
Fred Onyedinma gave underdogs Wycombe a surprise lead on Monday night in the FA Cup fourth round.
Bale’s goal on the stroke of half-time levelled the teams and it took until the 86th minute for Premier League outfit Spurs to go ahead for the first time in the game.
Winks tucked in a left-footed finish from outside the box, before substitute Ndombele netted a quick-fire brace to continue his fine form.

TBR’s View:
All eyes have been on Bale since he rejoined Spurs in the summer on loan from Real Madrid, but it’s been a slow start.
The 31-year-old right-winger did put in one of his most influential performances to date though against Wycombe.
He got himself on the scoresheet with a gaol from close-range, plus missed a couple of other good opportunities.
The left-footed Welshman should be looking to nail down a position in the attack on a far more regular basis and his latest performance should be a step in the right direction.
