Graham Roberts reacts on Twitter to Tottenham win over Burnley

Graham Roberts hailed Tottenham on Twitter after they demolished Burnley at home on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.

Spurs put on a stylish display to record a convincing 5-0 victory and the result has lifted them to fifth in the league table.

Harry Kane (two), Lucas Moura, Heung-Min Son and Moussa Sissoko were all on the scoresheet for the North London club.

Son certainly scored the pick of the goals with his individual strike, which came after he sprinted with the ball from the edge of his own area up the pitch to end up scoring.

Jose Mourinho has now won four of his five games in charge since taking charge as the Spurs manager and they bounced back from the midweek loss to Manchester United.

It was importantly his team’s first clean sheet, while going forward they have scored 16 goals in the 5 games.

Roberts name-checked a number of individuals after an emphatic home win, but noticeably claimed that English midfielder Eric Dier looked back to his sharpest.

“Wonderful performance from Harry Kane to Moussa Sissoko to Son much more like it and great to see Eric Dier back to his best day,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:

Dier was recalled to the Spurs team at the weekend and his presence in front of the defence was certainly felt.

The central midfielder was extremely confident and efficient when on the ball, while he also helped break up play for his team and looked commanding.

He is one of the players being tipped to thrive under Mourinho’s reign, something which fans may have got a glimpse into against Burnley.

Dier was a Rolls-Royce midfielder that used to be a key player a couple of years ago for Spurs and it would be brilliant if Mourinho can help him recapture that form, but there are tougher challenges ahead.
