Graham Roberts wasn’t too impressed with Tottenham’s overall performance despite the win over Norwich City on Wednesday night.
Spurs picked up a 2-1 victory in the Premier League against bottom of the table Norwich and the result does move them up to sixth.
Jose Mourinho’s team are now six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea and the hunt for the Champions League spots is still on.
Dele Alli put hosts Spurs in front in the first-half with a close-range finish, but Teemu Pukki equalised from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.
The North London club did find a winner late on though with Heung-Min Son’s header on the goal-line.
Despite Roberts not being too impressed by the team’s display, he did at least pick out two players Serge Aurier and Giovani Lo Celso as positives.
“Not up to standard but needed the three points. Again my man Serge Aurier really doing well. Also Giovani Lo Celso excellent. Lots of work and improvement to be done,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Mourinho has plenty of work to do to get Spurs up to an acceptable standard on a regular basis, but they got the job done in midweek and it must be reminded that they are without talisman striker Harry Kane.
Aurier delivered a decent display against Norwich and he’s definitely someone that has benefited from the change of manager.
The 27-year-old right-back assisted the opening goal with his cross and looks much more settled now.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old midfielder Lo Celso is also beginning to come out of his shell more and starting to pull the strings in the centre.
