Tottenham Hotspur thumped Manchester United 6-1 in one of the most incredible matches of the 2020/21 season so far.

It was an extremely happy return to Old Trafford for Jose Mourinho, who has capped off a superb week at the club in which the north Londoners made the last eight of the EFL Cup and qualified for the Europa League group stages.

After Davinson Sanchez gave away a penalty inside 30 seconds, Spurs went on a rampage.

Heung-min Son and Harry Kane were again at their very best, and United’s shocking defending led to an extremely embarrassing result for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

There were a host of fantastic individual performances for Spurs, and club legend Graham Roberts made sure to shower praise on several players on social media after the game.

He wrote: “Well done boys so proud of you all All incredible but as usual the main man is just out of this world @HKane but fantastic mentions to @Serge_aurier Hojbjerg @TanguyNdombele and @MoussaSissoko what a squad we have! COYS.

TBR’s View – Another incredible Kane display

It’s high praise to say Kane was out of this world, but he truly was outstanding in the game.

The England captain was at it from minute one, and was simply breathtaking to watch.

Not only is Kane a phenomenal goalscorer, but his link-up play is world-class and if he keeps this level up for most of the season, Spurs stand a great chance of finally winning that elusive piece of silverware.
