Graham Roberts loved what Nuno Espirito Santo did in the second half, as Tottenham knock Wolves out

Graham Roberts has applauded Nuno Espirito Santo for bringing on Sergio Reguilon in the 97th minute, as Tottenham beat Wolves on penalties.

Tottenham and Wolves went into penalties on Wednesday night after the two sides drew 2-2 at Molineux. That is, despite Spurs leading 2-0.

Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane scored twice in the first half to put Spurs ahead, as Nuno looked for a second win over Wolves at Molineux.

But Wolves came roaring back. Leander Dendoncker scored the first, before Daniel Podence finished superbly to make it 2-2. The game went to pens.

Wolves only managed to score two of their five spot-kicks, with Conor Coady, Ruben Neves and Dendoncker all missing. Reguilon scored.

Tottenham legend Roberts reacted to the decision on Twitter. He applauded Nuno for working smartly and quickly to use Reguilon from the spot.

The decision to bring Reguilon shows Nuno is more than aware as to what is going on in training – and that he had his side working on penalties.

Reguilon lashed an effort into the top corner, as Tottenham saw off Wolves after full-time. But it shows Nuno knows everything about his players.

Roberts was full of praise for Nuno, who secured another win – his fifth from nine games. He posted an eight-word message on Twitter.
