Lee Dixon claimed over the weekend that the atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium was “subdued” for Jose Mourinho’s first Premier League game at home – and Graham Roberts has hit back by hammering Arsenal’s atmosphere.
Spurs earned a 3-2 win over Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth – a third consecutive win for Mourinho in his first three games in charge. Dele Alli scored a brace, while Moussa Sissoko scored a stunning volley to put Spurs 3-0 ahead.
But as Spurs did against West Ham in Mourinho’s first match in charge, they conceded two late goals. Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson scored an excellent free-kick, before lashing home a left-footed effort in injury time.
Arsenal icon Dixon described the atmosphere created by 59,626 fans at Tottenham’s new stadium as “subdued” and “strange”. Spurs legend Roberts responded by teasing Arsenal’s atmosphere at The Emirates in the 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
WHL library! Very subdued atmosphere there yesterday. Strange as first Mourinho PL home game

Are you sure you wasn’t at the library on Thursday night

Tottenham overtook Arsenal over the weekend with the win over Bournemouth, as Arsenal failed to beat Norwich City at Carrow Road in Freddie Ljungberg’s first match in charge. The result ended in a 2-2 draw.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will reappoint a manager or leave it up to Ljungberg to improve the Arsenal atmosphere. He will be hoping he can do so at home to Brighton on Thursday night.
