Graham Roberts had heaped praise on Harry Kane and Gareth Bale after Tottenham thrashed Crystal Palace 4-1 in the latest London-derby.

Jose Mourinho’s men warmed up for next weekend’s North London clash with Arsenal in emphatic fashion, roaring back into contention for a Champions League spot.

Both Kane and Bale bagged two goals apiece last night as Mourinho put to bed any notion of his teams being bland and unimaginative when it comes to attacking.

Bale has taken some time to get up to speed during his second spell at Tottenham but over the last month, he’s been bang in form.

Likewise, Kane has been sensational once again this season. He has found the net 24 times and registered 16 assists in all competitions.

Roberts believes he will smash the records held by Jimmy Greaves and Alan Shearer, whilst he also had praise for Bale after last night’s contest.

Tottenham are now just two points off the top four with Chelsea in action against Everton tonight.

With their blip now looking to be firmly in the past, Mourinho’s team can finally start to look forward once again.

Bale has been a revelation of late and his performance against Palace was mesmerising at times.

He thoroughly deserved his two goals and at the moment, he is proving himself to be undroppable to Mourinho.

Kane’s goal record speaks for itself and Roberts has a point with regards to the talisman.

The 27-year-old needs 50 goals to eclipse Greaves’ record of 266 goals for the club and another 101 to beat Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League strikes.

Kane and Bale were sensational last night and supporters will hope their good form can continue a little while longer.
