Graham Roberts was in awe of defender Sergio Reguilon after he enjoyed an impressive Tottenham debut on Tuesday night.
Spurs reached the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in midweek by beating London rivals Chelsea 5-4 on penalties, after the 90 minutes finished level at 1-1.
With a crucial Europa League play-off tie against Maccabi Haifa on Thursday, manager Jose Mourinho made wholesale changes to his XI and it was an opportunity for others to impress.
Erik Lamela’s equalising goal in regular time took the match to a penalty shootout and it was an impressive second-half display in response to Timo Werner’s first-half goal.

Reguilon was one player under special watch against Chelsea, as he made his debut for the North London club following his summer transfer from Real Madrid.
The 23-year-old left-back started the game nervously with some mistakes, but grew into it to look a real attacking threat and his cross earned him his first assist of the season.
Former Spurs player Roberts was massively impressed with the Spaniard for his display and labelled him “superb”.
TBR’s View:
After seriously impressing out on loan at Sevilla last season, Madrid decided to cash in on Reguilon this summer and it looks like Spurs may have completed an excellent piece of business.
His £25million transfer fee (Evening Standard) could prove an absolute bargain for the club, after he signed a five-year deal with them and decided to tackle English football for the first time.
Mourinho has strengthened in an area of the pitch where they were crying out for signings, so Matt Doherty and Reguilon could be a solid full-back pairing over the next couple of seasons.
