Ex-Tottenham player Graham Roberts has claimed he’s hugely excited about the potential arrival of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to North London during the summer transfer window and that has picked up on Tuesday.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs have completed the signing of the France international for a club-record £65million fee.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are yet to give an official announcement on any deal, leaving the club’s supporters left waiting.

Spurs did confirm on Tuesday morning though the signing of attacker Jack Clarke from Leeds United and he’s returned to Elland Road for the upcoming season on loan.

Roberts is hyped about Ndombele potentially arriving and believes Spurs will be signing a special talent.

“I know not officially confirmed yet but I am getting very excited to welcome probably the best central  midfielder his age in European football,” Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account.

TBR’s View:

Ndombele is expected to arrive at Spurs imminently, with some outlets stating that a deal has already been agreed.

He is the type of high-profile addition that should relieve Spurs fans and their patience is beginning to be worth it, after their dry spell in transfer windows.

The box-to-box central midfielder is at a level already to improve Pochettino’s side and there should be no problem dealing with the physical demands of the Premier League.

There will be decent options in the centre of the park for Spurs and it would be intriguing to see him in a trio alongside Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko.
