Rangers are reportedly hoping to bring in Steven Davis this month. As reported by the Scottish Sun, the Northern Irishman has agreed an 18-month deal to rejoin the Ibrox side he left back in 2012. A medical is said to be due within the next 24 hours and Rangers will be snapping up a player with 107-caps for Northern Ireland.
So what does it mean for the players currently at the club?
For one player, in particular, it is surely bad news.
Graham Dorrans was a similar sort of signing from Rangers back in 2017. A player with plenty of Premier League experience south of the border, a boyhood Rangers fan, it was hoped he could become a pillar of the Ibrox side.
As reported by the Daily Record, he joined in a £750,000 deal that summer after being chased by Pedro Caixinha for most of it.

The results, however, have been mixed.
Dorrans has never really got going for Rangers. Injuries have cursed him and since his Glasgow arrival, he has played just 21 times for the club. It had all started so well for him as well, with a winning brace on debut against Motherwell.
But Steven Gerrard has had few opportunities to use him and the central midfield position is getting crowded.
With Davis’ arrival, Rangers now have the newbie, Scott Arfield, Ross McCrorie, Lassana Coulibaly, Ryan Jack, Andy Halliday and the equally injury-prone Jordan Rossiter in central midfield – not to mention the talented Greg Docherty on loan at Shrewsbury Town.
With Dorrans one of the biggest earners at Ibrox, getting his wages off the book might be an option the club need to consider.
