Tottenham and Manchester City played out an exhilarating game of Premier League football last night as Harry Kane went off script to produce a masterclass in attacking.
The England captain scored twice and was outstanding throughout, as he dropped deep to pull City’s defenders apart and help his team to a huge victory. The scenes of celebration from Antonio Conte and his bench show just how big a moment Kane’s winner was.

However, according to Sky Sports pundit, Graeme Souness, Kane’s performance might have actually worked against them last night. The former Liverpool midfielder lauded Kane, but questioned whether that would now spark a new transfer scramble for Kane this summer.
“Harry Kane was fantastic. He’s put himself in the shop window again. It was a remarkable Spurs performance. I didn’t see that coming. That was a masterclass from Spurs, like a big away day in Europe. A masterclass of counter-attacking football” Souness said live on Sky.
Jamie Carragher, too, also spoke of his admiration for Kane. The Sky regular saying after the game it was one of the best individual performances he had seen all season.
TBR’s View: Kane Shows His Class Once Again
The goals might not have flowed quite as regularly this season but this Harry Kane is the best striker in the world.
He was everywhere. And then when it mattered, in the 18 yard box, Kane was on hand to show his devastating finishing prowess.
It was a masterclass from Spurs and Kane, and one which will have hurt Pep Guardiola deep down.
