Tottenham have been drawn against AC Milan for their Champions League knockout tie and Graeme Souness believes it’s an ideal draw.
The former Liverpool midfielder was speaking live on TalkSPORT this afternoon after the draw was made. Tottenham sneaked through with a late win over Marseille and now face a Milan side beaten twice by Chelsea already this season.
Of course, it is a return to Italy for Antonio Conte. The Tottenham manager will want to show his fellow countrymen that his Spurs side can do the business.

And Souness, talking about all the English clubs, believes Tottenham will be fine against a Milan side nowhere near what they once were.
“I think Chelsea will be fine, I think [Manchester] City will be fine, I think Tottenham will be fine – AC Milan are a shadow of what they were,” Souness said on TalkSPORT this afternoon.
Souness is never one to mince his words and he clearly has confidence in the English clubs here. Indeed, on paper, all four should be able to get through. That is, of course, apart from Liverpool, who have the unenviable task of trying to beat Real Madrid.
Tottenham, really, will be relatively happy with their draw.
TBR’s View: Tottenham are better than AC Milan
If the Spurs that has shown up in the last few second halves comes to play then they should have no issues in getting past this Milan side.
The Serie A side were painfully weak against Chelsea on both occasions. The Blues could have easily scored more in both games and Milan, really, had nothing in response.
This is a good tie for Conte and Tottenham. Things could have been worse and Conte will fancy going back to Italy and making a statement as well. Certainly, when it comes to winnable last 16 ties, this is one for Tottenham.
