Graeme Souness praised Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck but disputed his claim about his side’s quality after a 3-3 draw against Manchester United.
Souness compared the Blades to Barcelona at times after a game in which they battered their visitors for 70 minutes, before a seven minute spell of madness saw Fleck’s side go 3-2 down.
On Sky Sports, Souness said: “John Fleck said in his interview that they don’t have the quality of the other teams. I disagree with that because as well as going long at the right times, there were times when they were like Barcelona in tight areas.
“John Fleck is a little craftsmen. Great technique. He can get around the park. In the first half, he takes a corner and it gets cleared. Within a few seconds he is tackling Marcus Rashford in the right-back position. The ball for the second goal, the accuracy of that pass…”

TBR’s View – Sheffield United deserved a comfortable win
The Blades were absolutely outstanding for 70 minutes yesterday and settled back into the defensive shape that got them the win against Arsenal.
United looked toothless but suddenly sparked into life and scored every chance they had for seven minutes, but to lose the match would have been incredibly harsh on Chris Wilder’s side.
Fleck and his midfield colleagues looked another level above Fred and Andreas Pereira, showing intensity and quality which was way beyond anything Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s lavishly-assembled side could muster.
