Graeme Souness has given his prediction on whether Manchester United are going to sack Erik ten Hag or not at the end of this season.

Ten Hag saw his side beat Liverpool yesterday thanks to a stunning late winner from Amad Diallo.

However, while it is a semi-final and a trip to Wembley for United, there is still some doubt over whether Ten Hag will be the Manchester United boss next season.

With Jim Ratcliffe coming in, there are question marks. And speaking to Simon Jordan on TalkSPORT, Graeme Souness believes decisions will have already been taken behind the scenes.

Erik ten Hag could be sacked by Manchester United

Speaking about the issue on Ten Hag’s future beyond this season, Souness believes that Ten Hag will indeed be gone and a new manager will be in place.

“I think they will have made their mind up already. That there will be a new coach in charge of Man United next year. Unless they go on the most amazing run and find themselves in the top four but with that group of players, what you get with average players is that you get up and down performances,” Souness said.

The writing is on the wall

You get the impression that Ratcliffe and INEOS are going to be quite brutal and certain in their decisions.

And sadly for Ten Hag, that means that the Dutchman will likely lose his job, as Souness says here.

As the former Liverpool man says, it will take a remarkable upturn in form and some hugely impressive performances for the general feeling around Ten Hag to change.

As it stands, there are still so many things you can pick apart in how United play. Tactically, they still seem off it and the midfield area remains a problem.

Against Liverpool, they got away with the away side missing a number of big chances. Quite whether that can continue, will be down to Ratcliffe and his new team.
