Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness was not happy with the performance of Mo Salah for Liverpool today as they drew with Everton.
In a pulsating yet goalless draw at Goodison Park, Salah was kept quiet throughout by a tough and resolute Everton backline who seemed determined to keep a clean-sheet. Of course, Salah very nearly won it at the end at Jordan Pickford pulled off a fine save to rescue the Toffees.

However, former Liverpool man Souness wasn’t too impressed again with Salah, and has questioned whether the new contract has led to the Reds star putting his feet up a bit.
“I’m looking at Salah. I look at Salah for Liverpool against Manchester United, in the first couple of minutes Martinez goes right through him and the rest of the game, Salah goes looking for him,” Souness said on Sky Sports.
“And i’ve not seen the same Mo Salah this year and I just hope, he’s signed a big contract that he wanted and at this level, if you knock off by one or half a percent you’re not the same player. I hope it’s not him getting semi in his armchair. And I’m saying that as a Liverpool supporter, hopefully to make him angry and prove me wrong.”
TBR’s View: Salah Will Come Good Again For Liverpool
Salah is simply too good to not do the business for Liverpool but Souness makes a valid point in that his levels have been nowhere near what they have been this season.
The Egyptian forward is a world class player and he needs to start showing that more often. Today against Everton was the sort of game where Salah needs to produce something, and while he did try late on, he didn’t do enough to win the game.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping this is merely a slight dip in performance.
