A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to praise Dennis Cirkin’s display for Spurs in today’s pre-season friendly.
The 18-year-old, a left-back by trade, has been working his way up the ranks in the Spurs academy and is now on the brink of a first-team breakthrough.
Cirkin – who penned his first professional contract last year – is said to have a lot of fans at the club, including Jose Mourinho, who has described him as a “kid with a lot of quality”.

The Portuguese also named him in his matchday squad three times last season – once in the Premier League and twice in the FA Cup.
In Spurs’ friendly with Birmingham today, Cirkin was named in the starting XI for the first time and he did well, dealing with everything that came his way.
Though he played just 45 minutes, with Ben Davies taking his place at the break, some Tottenham fans liked what they saw from him:
Spurs ran out 1-0 winners over the Blues as Steven Bergwijn drilled a low finish in to the bottom-right corner of the net with one of the last kicks of the game.
