A number of Liverpool fans have lauded the news that Alisson Becker has signed a new contract at Anfield.

The Reds made the announcement on Wednesday, confirming the goalkeeper has signed a new long-term deal.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Alisson’s new contract will take him to the summer of 2027.

The Brazil international becomes the third member of Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad to commit his future to the club in the last week.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho have also put pen to paper over the past few days.

The 28-year-old has barely put a foot wrong for the Reds since joining in 2018 for a then world-record fee for a goalkeeper.

Alisson has helped Liverpool win the Premier League, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Supercup.

And last season, he scored a crucial goal in the race for a Champions League place, a dramatic last-minute winner against West Brom.

In addition, Alisson kept 10 Premier League clean sheets last term, plus a further five in the Champions League.
