Dharmesh Sheth has told Sky Sports News that Arsenal insiders have told him that Emile Smith Rowe’s contract talks are ‘moving positively’.
Good news
Smith Rowe’s future at Arsenal has been speculated about heavily in recent times, after Aston Villa have launched two offers.
Arsenal have quickly batted away the bids for their academy graduate, who broke into their first-team last term.
The Gunners are now trying to tie down Smith Rowe to a longer term deal, which will secure his future.
And it seems that Arsenal are edging closer to making an announcement over Smith Rowe’s contract.
“Arsenal simply are not entertaining offers for Smith Rowe. And there are talks that are ongoing over a new contract,” he said. “They have been described to me as ‘moving positively’. So that is good news for Arsenal fans.
“All parties are hopeful that a new contract can be agreed for a new contract for Smith Rowe.”
The future
If Arsenal can tie down Smith Rowe it will be a massively positive step for the North London side.

The youngster appears to be one of the players who Arteta can build his side around in future years.
Arsenal have a clutch of exciting youngsters, but Smith Rowe ranks up there with one of the most exciting.
The playmaker injected real creativity into Arsenal’s team ever since he was brought into the starting line-up last term.
And it will be hugely damaging to Arsenal if they were to lose him at such an early stage of his career.
