Arsenal fans have been praising- and lamenting  in equal measure- the performance of Emi Martinez tonight as he made a stunning debut for his side, Aston Villa.

The former Gunners star made a stunning penalty save to keep the score at 0-0, pushing John Lundstram’s penalty to the side.

It was another superb effort from the Argentinian stopper, who enjoyed a stunning final six months at Arsenal, winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield before moving to Villa Park.

And the save tonight, and his overall performance, have attracted the attention of Gunners fans on Twitter, with some of them taking to the social media platform to lament the sale of their former hero.
