Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to Liverpool’s official website and says he’s been told something completely incorrect about Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain by ‘everybody’ at the club.
Keita is yet to play a single minute of football this season after being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
It was exactly the same situation for Oxlade-Chamberlain until he came back into the squad against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, coming on as a substitute in the last 15 minutes.
Both players missed out on Klopp’s Champions League squad as the German thought they would be sidelined for much longer than it turns out.
The Liverpool boss says both Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain are now available to start playing minutes for his side. But he has shared that he was told differently by people at the club.

Klopp told something completely incorrect
“Yes, players are coming back, but when I was asked if Ibou [Konate] is now ready to play – he trained yesterday the first day properly,” Klopp told Liverpool’s official website.
“So, yes, he was not long out but he had a muscle thing, so does it make sense to bring him in directly for 95 minutes? I am not sure.
“The same with Naby, he needs to train, Oxlade needs to train. They are both not in the Champions League squad anyway because everybody told me they will be out for longer, but now they are back, which is good – [but] not back to play but back to be around and play a few minutes.”

Both Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain have really struggled with persistent injuries during their time at Liverpool.
But it seems that they are now back ahead of schedule and will be hoping to avoid any more setbacks.
Klopp is clearly frustrated by the amount of injuries his players have suffered this season, leaving him with a lack of options.
The German boss will be delighted to have both Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain back sooner than expected.
But it is a blow for Klopp that they aren’t available for tonight’s game due to not being registered in Liverpool’s European squad.
