A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Diego Carlos’ performance in the Europa League last night.

According to a report from The Telegraph earlier this month, Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are in the race to sign the Sevilla defender.

The outlet claimed that Carlos is being tracked by a number of clubs around Europe, though his £68million release clause would make him difficult for Arsenal to sign.

However, it is believed that Sevilla could accept less for Carlos, with a fee of £54.5million being mooted – again, steep for the Gunners as things stand, perhaps less so if players are sold and funds raised.

The 27-year-old has been a near ever-present for the La Liga side this term, with his impressive performances putting him in the shop window.

However, Carlos didn’t quite have the best day at the office on Tuesday night as Sevilla faced Wolves in the Europa League.

The defender brought Adama Traore down in the box to earn a booking and give away a penalty, though Yassine Bounou kept out Raul Jimenez’s spot kick.

Though decent in possession, Carlos was often beaten in the air too, with Jimenez coming out best in duels.

In the end, Sevilla came out on top, winning 1-0 thanks to a late Lucas Ocampos goal, but some of the Arsenal fans following proceedings weren’t impressed with Carlos:
