Roy Keane has suggested to the Overlap that Jesse Lingard is a better fit at West Ham United than Manchester United.
Lingard to West Ham?
Lingard spent the back end of last season at West Ham, when his form seemed to force Manchester United into a rethink.
The playmaker was simply brilliant at the London Stadium, and he may now be given a lifeline at Old Trafford.
But Keane doesn’t think that Lingard has the quality required to really take Manchester United on to the next level.
And he has suggested that Lingard looks a much better fit in a West Ham shirt.
“Jesse Lingard, the players like that in the background, they’re going to have to shift them on,” he said.
“I don’t think [he’s done enough to stay]. I don’t think Jesse Lingard is going to get Man United back challenging for titles.
“I think you’re going back to Jesse. I think he did well at West Ham and maybe that type of club is a good club for him.”

Rising value
The problem for West Ham is that Lingard’s brilliant form with them has raised his price-tag.
West Ham are now looking at having to spend £25 million on the attacking midfielder (EuroSport), which may not be wise given his advancing years.
But West Ham have been seriously quiet in the transfer market so far, despite qualifying for Europe last term.
And if they could get a move for Lingard over the line, his arrival would be a massive boost for David Moyes and all West Ham supporters.
