Good chance Liverpool target Bellingham will leave Dortmund - Romano
Fabrizio Romano has told Que Golazo that he believes that there is a good chance that Jude Bellingham will leave Borussia Dortmund next summer, with Liverpool one of the sides ready to make a move.
Liverpool’s midfield situation looks set to be a talking point for the next 12 months. Many of the fans were crying out for the club to strengthen in the middle of the park during the past summer window.
Ultimately, the Reds did sign a midfielder. However, a deadline day loan move for Arthur Melo – who was out of favour for some time with Juventus – has not alleviated the concerns about Liverpool’s options.
It will certainly be a priority for next summer. And plenty of Liverpool fans will be hoping that Bellingham is the name at the top of their wishlist.
‘There’ll be an incredible race’
Danny Murphy recently suggested that the England international would be a game-changer for their side. And Romano has now provided a bit of an update when asked whether he expects the youngster to leave Dortmund at the end of the season.
“I think there are good chances to see Bellingham leaving Dortmund next summer. It’s never going to be easy because we know how tough it is to negotiate with Borussia Dortmund. We saw it with Sancho and with Haaland until he had the release clause,” he told Que Golazo.
“Next summer I’m sure there’ll be an incredible race. I was speaking to some of my sources a few weeks ago and they told me get ready as it’ll be the same as with Haaland. Liverpool will be there, but there will be other important clubs around Europe.”
Good chance Bellingham will leave Dortmund
It does appear to be absolutely imperative that Liverpool sign at least one new midfielder. And whoever they bring in needs to be a marquee addition.
Bellingham does appear to tick every possible box for the Reds. He is an ‘amazing‘ talent. And the scary thought is that he should only improve in the coming years.
With so many Liverpool fans probably dreaming of a deal for Bellingham, they are going to have to produce something special if they miss out on the 19-year-old.
