Andre Gomes is waiting for Everton to make a bid to bring him to Goodison Park on a permanent basis this summer, according to the Guardian.
They report that West Ham have made a second bid for the 29-cap Portugal international, worth £20 million, but Barcelona are holding out for a fee closer to £25 million.
But the report crucially says that Gomes prefers a move to Everton, where he spent the 2018/19 season on loan, but the Toffees are yet to bid.
It’s slightly strange that given Everton had Gomes last season and clearly have a decent working relationship with Barcelona having signed Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne from the Spanish champions last season, that an offer hasn’t gone in yet.

It’s not a shock that Gomes wants a return to Merseyside, where he knows how he fits into the team and has presumably got settled during his loan spell.
But Everton may want to act reasonably quickly – especially if West Ham up their bid to the £25 million valuation Barcelona reportedly want.
Gomes was a sensation and a fan favourite last season. Getting him in permanently is vital for progress – losing him to another mid-table side looking to push on this term would be a transfer failure.
