Connor Goldson has posted a brilliant one-word message on Instagram after Rangers eased past Old Firm rivals Celtic on Sunday afternoon with a superb 4-1 victory at Ibrox – and Borna Barisic has replied, among others.
Tasked with avoiding defeat against John Kennedy’s side in order to remain unbeaten during their Scottish Premiership campaign, Rangers did that and more in what was Celtic captain Scott Brown’s last Old Firm derby.
Kemar Roofe scored a brace, the first a moment of magic with his chest and the second an excellent header – while Alfredo Morelos nutmegged Brown to score his second ever goal against Celtic. Jermain Defoe also netted.
Goldson, despite being partnered by newbie Jack Simpson, was excellent throughout as he clocked up his 54th appearances of the season in all competitions. He posted on Instagram, responding to the banner in the picture.
In those 54 games, Goldson has clocked up a whopping 32 clean sheets – playing every single minute of his side’s 2020-21 campaign. Not only that, but the ex-Brighton defender has also scored eight goals, twice against Celtic.
Plenty of delighted fans responded to his post, which comes after the social media boycott ended. Borna Barisic was among them, commenting “absolutely” while ex-Rangers midfielders Greg Docherty and Andy King posted emojis.
