Gold suggests Crystal Palace could be interested in Harry Winks

Alasdair Gold has suggested in a video on his YouTube channel that he believes that Crystal Palace could be interested in signing Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

It would be no surprise to see Winks leave Spurs in the coming months. He has struggled to hold down a spot in the side under a number of managers, including Antonio Conte. His most recent 90-minute appearance in the Premier League came back in February.

Rodrigo Bentancur has been a revelation since his January move. And Winks’ place in the pecking order is likely to drop further once Oliver Skipp returns from injury.

Reports claimed that Tottenham are willing to take as little as £15 million for Winks. And you would imagine that a number of Premier League sides will want the England international.

Everton are reportedly admirers. And Gold has now suggested that there is a chance that Patrick Vieira could look to bring Winks to Selhurst Park.

“I think he’ll be an attractive proposition for some of those clubs at the next level down. You’ve got the likes of the Evertons. And I think Palace, there could be a potential bit of interest there as well,” he told his YouTube channel.

Palace have a huge void to fill in their midfield this summer. Conor Gallagher proved to be an absolutely outstanding loan signing. And it would be no surprise to see him involved in the Chelsea first-team next season.

Winks is a very different midfielder. But the Eagles will be aware that trying to find a replacement for Gallagher who ticks many of the same boxes will be difficult.

Winks has the ability to be an ‘amazing‘ player. He tries to dictate play and be brave on the ball. And some Spurs fans may not be surprised if he proves to be a success at his next club.

It appears to be best for all parties if Winks agrees a move away this summer. Perhaps Palace may be his next destination.
