Alasdair Gold has suggested in a video on his YouTube channel that he would be shocked if Celtic did not trigger the option that would see them sign Cameron Carter-Vickers permanently from Tottenham Hotspur.
Carter-Vickers appears to have a host of sides chasing his signature ahead of the summer. Reports claimed that the likes of Leicester City and Wolves were amongst the sides to contact Spurs about signing the centre-back.

His stock has risen sharply following his move to Parkhead in the summer. It had appeared that he was in danger of watching his Tottenham career fizzle out in extremely underwhelming fashion.
His loan spells in the Championship had been mixed. But he had struggled to prove a point to his parent club while away.

However, joining Celtic has set Carter-Vickers on his way towards really getting his career off and running. He has been a key member of the squad for the Hoops, who now lead the Scottish Premiership.
Obviously, reports of Premier League interest will surely not escape the attention of the USMNT international. But Gold has predicted that it will be Celtic who sign Carter-Vickers from Tottenham.
“It’s been such a successful move,” he said on his YouTube channel. “Ange Postecoglou called him outstanding after the game. I’d be shocked if Celtic don’t buy him at the end of his loan. They’ve got an option to buy him, they’d be mad if they don’t because he’s smashing it there.”
Will Tottenham have regret if Celtic trigger Carter-Vickers option?
It is still hard to see Carter-Vickers featuring for Tottenham again. But they may still rue the situation should Celtic ultimately trigger that option to sign him.
They would have likely been delighted had they been told last year that the Hoops would make his move permanent.
Now however, there is Premier League interest. And with that, there may have been scope for Tottenham to receive a much bigger fee for Carter-Vickers.
It will be interesting to see what Celtic do should Carter-Vickers attract further offers. Perhaps they may be tempted to cash-in immediately should they receive the chance to make a hefty profit.
