Jack Pitt Brooke has suggested that both Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier are now set to stay at Tottenham Hotspur on the View from the Lane podcast.
Fighting for his future
Sanchez, in particular, looked very likely to leave Tottenham at one point this summer.
Sanchez was effectively on the transfer list at one point early on in the transfer window, and Gianluca Di Marzio reported how Tottenham had tried to use the Colombian in a swap deal to bring in Jules Kounde.
However, Sanchez has now started Spurs’ first two games of the season alongside Dier.
The pair have looked solid under Nuno to date, with Tottenham yet to concede a goal in domestic competition.
And Pitt-Brooke has suggested that Sanchez and Dier have now been taken off the list of players who Tottenham could sell this summer.
He said: “They have considered getting rid of Sanchez, but I’m sure Sanchez will stay now, he’s played really well so far.
“Eric Dier, I think, will also stay. Some of these players that were on the transfer list earlier this summer, now know they’re going to stay.”

Sticking around
Dier and Sanchez will be under pressure to have strong seasons if they do stick around at Spurs.
Tottenham have already brought in Cristian Romero, while another central defender could arrive before deadline day.
It is widely expected that Romero will ultimately take his place in Tottenham’s starting line-up, with Dier and Sanchez left to compete for the other spot.
But the Argentine may actually have to be patient while his teammates show such good form.
Tottenham haven’t even looked particularly vulnerable so far this season, given the quality of the performances that Dier and Sanchez have been putting in.
Spurs are next in action against Watford at the weekend, when Dier and Sanchez could once again be selected.
