Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left worried after Steven Bergwijn was pictured with strapping and ice on his ankle last night.

Tottenham fans rocked

Bergwijn played just over an hour for Holland yesterday as they demolished Turkey, but there were concerns at Tottenham that he had picked up an injury.

The £27 million attacker (BBC Sport) looked in discomfort as he sat on the bench, with some Spurs fans now worried he could miss their game against Crystal Palace this weekend.

If Bergwijn is to miss Tottenham’s clash with Palace it could be a major blow.

Tottenham have had a disastrous international break, with numerous availability issues now emerging ahead of the weekend.

Notable absentees

They are set to be without Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso already, while Oliver Skipp and Bergwijn both seemingly picked up knocks last night.

Bergwijn has been an integral player at Tottenham since Nuno took charge.

The Dutchman’s pace has been a real asset to Spurs on the counter-attack, and he may well start against Palace if he can recover in time to feature.

Tottenham have taken maximum points from their first three Premier League games and another victory at the weekend would extend their lead at the top of the table.
