Jose Mourinho has picked out Tottenham teen talent Dane Scarlett as someone he’s extremely excited about moving forward.
Scarlett, 17, is a highly rated youngster from the Spurs academy who’s already made three senior appearances.
The centre-forward made his first-team debut last season when Mourinho was Spurs manager, but the Portuguese boss has since departed and is now in charge at Roma.
He bagged 22 goals in 19 appearances for the Under-18s side last campaign. In addition, he managed three goals in five games for the Under-23s. The English striker is already playing up in age groups because of his potential.
Mourinho is tipping Scarlett for a massive future, which must give the teenager a major boost.
“I know he’s still very young, just 17, and it is probably too early for the next World Cup, but Tottenham Hotspur have a striker in Dane Scarlett, who, if everything goes well, is going to be phenomenal,” Mourinho said.

Big expectation on Scarlett future at Tottenham
Spurs have already seen Harry Kane go from their academy to superstar status in the past decade, but it’s not fair to put that pressure on a youngster.
Scarlett does look a rising star on paper.
He was a goal machine at youth level last season, so eventually earned a first-team debut.
However, he’s now got to go through the process of trying to catch the eye of new first-team Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
It will be interesting to see if he can force his way into the role of Kane understudy.
