'Going to be a top player': Alexander-Arnold so impressed by 19-year-old Liverpool prospect over pre-season
Trent Alexander-Arnold has praised the performance of Owen Beck over Liverpool’s pre-season, on the club’s official website.
Beck impresses
Beck has been part of the Liverpool squad which travelled to Austria and played a part in their friendly against Athletic Bilbao yesterday.
The teenager caught the eye of the Anfield crowd, as he put in an energetic display in the first-team.
And Alexander-Arnold is now expecting big things of the Liverpool youngster in future years.

“Yeah [he played well], he’s showed signs of that in the whole pre-season, really,” Alexander-Arnold said.
“He’s impressed a lot of us with the way he is.
“He’s still growing, he’s still maturing as a lad, he’s got a lot to learn but the signs are there that he’s going to be a top player. He’s obviously got Robbo and Kostas ahead of him – hopefully being in and around them he’ll be able to pick up things and learn from them. Today he got the opportunity and took it.”
Exciting group
Beck is part of an exciting crop of Liverpool youngsters on the fringe of the first-team now.
There are big things expected of him, Kaide Gordon and Harvey Elliott in the coming years now.
Beck and Elliott both got on the Anfield pitch yesterday and impressed, as they did their chances of featuring under Jurgen Klopp this season no harm.
Liverpool kick their campaign off at the weekend with a game against newly promoted Norwich City and it will be interesting to see if any of the young players who have impressed over pre-season have done enough to earn a place in the Reds’ match day squad.
