Former Arsenal midfielder, Paul Merson, says Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be joining Manchester United just for the money if he moves to Old Trafford.
Rumours are rife at the moment when it comes to the Gabon international. Differing reports claim that the Gunners star is off in the summer.

A number of clubs are said to be interested, too, with Manchester United among those said to be keen. However, it was claimed yesterday that Inter Milan have now thrown their name into the hat.
And former Gunners star Merson has accused Aubameyang of simply going for the money when it comes to Manchester United’s interest.
“I don’t think you can say Aubameyang would be going for ambition if he went to Manchester United,” Merson said. (Sky Sports)
“He’d be going for the money because he’s almost 31 and this would likely to be his last move.”
While Merson believes Aubameyang could be ideal for United, he’s not sold on the Arsenal man’s intentions.

Indeed, Merson commented further, questioning if he would even have any success at Old Trafford.
“You won’t be able to guarantee United winning anything in the next two or three seasons. They are getting better but it’s not ambitions, it’s the money,” Merson added.
Aubameyang has been in fine form for Arsenal this season with 17 Premier League goals.
Merson could have a point, given reports – TBR View
Given that the issue behind Aubameyang leaving Arsenal is thought to be about his huge wages, then Paul Merson might just have a point here.
Man United have been known in recent years to dish out hefty paycheques. If it is indeed money motivating the Arsenal man, then Old Trafford will be the place for him.
However, you’d like to think he had a bit more about him than that. He’s a class act on his day. Therefore, if he does move to United, you’d like to think footballing reasons play their part too.
