A number of Leeds United fans have been commenting on Twitter about Aleksandar Mitrovic’s latest performance – and wishing they had a player like him in the Whites ranks.
Leeds’ Championship promotion charge has stuttered somewhat in recent weeks and the Whites are now just two points ahead of Mitrovic’s Fulham, albeit with a game in hand.
The Londoners claimed a 1-1 draw at Derby County on Friday night, with the Serbia international striker now on 22 Championship goals this season after helping his side come from behind in the East Midlands.
Wayne Rooney had put his side ahead from the penalty spot in the 55th minute of the game but Mitrovic volleyed home from Aboubakar Kamara’s cross in the 71st minute for a share of the spoils.
Leeds remain in the hunt for automatic promotion but the gap between themselves and the playoff places has narrowed massively since the turn of the year.

The Elland Road side was nine points clear of third following their 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion on New Year’s Day.
A few weeks earlier, the Whites had been as much as 11 points clear after a seventh straight league win, against Hull City at Elland Road.
Converting chances into goals has remained a massive issue for Leeds this season, as it was last term, and when it came to Mitrovic’s latest goalscoring exploits, some Whites fans couldn’t help but wish they had a player of his calibre in their ranks.
