AC Milan goalkeeper has come to an agreement with Aston Villa over a move, with his agent now negotiating his exit from the San Siro.

According to Spanish outlet AS, agent Manuel García Quilón is working on the switch from Milan to the Midlands as Dean Smith seeks to boost his goalkeeping ranks.

The report says that Reina would join on a deal until the end of the season, with the possibility to extend for another season if the agreement is a success.

Reina has played just the once for Milan this season and would offer competition for Orjan Nyland after Tom Heaton’s long-term injury.

TBR’s View – Reina would face stiff competition from Nyland on current form

If Reina thought he would come to Villa Park and take on the number one spot immediately, watching last night’s EFL Cup semi-final should make him think twice.

Nyland was absolutely sensational in the 1-1 draw, stepping up to the plate on a huge night and giving Villa a platform to build on for the second leg.

But Reina’s vast experience and professionalism would be a great addition, bringing stiff competition between the sticks, provided his agent can secure the exit from Milan.
