‘Go and get this boy’: Rio Ferdinand blown away by ‘ridiculous’ Liverpool-linked player

Reported Liverpool target Jadon Sancho has been praised by Rio Ferdinand, who implored one of the Premier League’s top clubs to “go and get this boy”.

The Reds have been linked with the 21-year-old for a number of months now, with BILD claiming in April that his displays haven’t gone unnoticed by Jurgen Klopp.

Although the outlet acknowledged that Liverpool probably wouldn’t be able to afford Sancho this summer as things stand, this could change if Mohamed Salah were sold.

The Egypt international’s Anfield future remains the subject of speculation, having kept the door open on a move to La Liga at some point in the future.

Another BILD report has recently claimed that Sancho has made the decision to return home from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ferdinand believes that the England international has what it takes to be a star in the Premier League.

“It’s blasphemy, anyone talking about Sancho saying they’re not sure about him being in the squad, look at the stats I put in the group please,” he said. “For the third season on the spin, he’s put in 30 plus goal involvements.

“This is a 21-year-old kid, I don’t care where he’s playing. It is ridiculous, the kid is the real deal and someone like Man United or whoever, one of the top teams has to go and get this boy, he brings the playground to the stadiums.”

As far as bold football decisions go, Sancho’s call to leave Manchester City and try his luck in Germany is probably one of the best in recent memory.

Sancho is now a superstar and looks set to have a career at the very top of the game.

And a team like Liverpool, eager to get back to trophy-winning ways after an aberration of a season, would become even more of a force to be reckoned with.
