Ryan Kent has been an undoubted success for Rangers this season. The winger, known to new boss Steven Gerrard from his time at Liverpool, has been sensational on the left-hand side in recent weeks and Rangers fans are loving having him at Ibrox.
However, his Glasgow stay is currently temporary. As reported by The Herald, the player is open to staying at Rangers long-term with a potential £2 million fee being mentioned.
But one man at Rangers who might not want this deal to go through is Glenn Middleton.
The 19-year-old had an excellent start to the season at Rangers. However, Kent has pushed him down the pecking order and the teenager is now on the fringes at Ibrox.
With Jordan Jones arriving from Kilmarnock in the summer and Jamie Murphy returning from injury, Middleton can see himself getting lost in the mire if Kent becomes a permanent Rangers player.
Liverpool may have plans for Kent that do not fit with Rangers’. Middleton might be the only man at Ibrox hoping that Kent is not available in the summer.
If not, then the 19-year-old may have to consider a loan move away from the club next term.
