Tottenham Hotspur have pulled off a Champions League miracle. Trailing 2-0 at half-time and 3-0 on aggregate it looked over for Spurs. However, a hat-trick from Lucas Moura, including a last minute goal, secured a historic win in Amsterdam.
It was a game which would have had Glenn Hoddle’s cardiologist on his toes. The Tottenham Hotspur legend suffered a near-fatal heart attack in November during a broadcast with BT Sport.
But he came through the incident and tonight was in the studio.

After the game, considering the topsy-turvy nature of the game, BT Sport presenter Gary Lineker had to enquire if his good friend was feeling ok.
Hoddle’s answer (BT Sport; 07/05/2019), clearly through tears, was emotional:
“Yeah, I am fine. I’ve never been happier. I am so glad I am still around to see this. Being a Spurs fan from eight years of age. What a proud moment.
“It wasn’t tactical, it was a long boot on there. Doesn’t matter! What a hat-trick from Moura.”
It was a tremendous comeback from Tottenham and for Hoddle, it was clearly a highly emotional experience. He fought his way back from a very serious health scare and now his beloved Tottenham have given him something in reward.
Hopefully, they can continue to do Hoddle proud in the final next month.
